I wonder if many noticed that we repeated the last hymn of the Epiphany at the beginning - and if they do perhaps they think that it is ore about limited imagination rather than a making a connection across the feasts… Following last year's absence we did continue to sing the Christmas Gloria this week, though with some new Acclamations.

If this blog serves no other purpose it at least reminds what we have done in the past. I did look at last year's comments on the Epiphany and followed the suggestion for the hymns as at beginning and end. We sang the last hymn, as suggested, to King Divine and I thought it worked well. I think I have previously sung it to St Georges Windsor - but that was a long time ago. It strange how trading hymn names suggests the need for one called Mornington Crescent!

It has been a long time since there has been a resident priest around over the Christmas break. This has meant that there has been daily Mass. Someone thought it would be nice if we sang for the Octave day. In fact there was 2-1 congregation-choir. I was minded to begin with A noble flower of Judah but the numbers suggested something probably more familiar. The challenge how is it still Christmas

Next year the Solemnity will fall on the Sunday - so good to be prepared.
